Computer Forensics
Corporate Investigations
Many organisations are exposed to the threat of staff misuse of computers. Unauthorised access, fraud, forgery, email and web misuse involving software theft pornography and child abuse material, bestiality, extreme violence and many other categories of unwanted and illegal material.
It is quite possible that corporate networks are currently storing such information with neither the owners knowledge nor consent. Often, a lack of consistency in the investigation of these cases has led to the victim organisation suffering considerably more loss – especially to reputation – than they should.
At QCC, we are specialists in the recovery of admissible evidence from computers and networks. Our background is based firmly in the detection of computer crime and we use this expertise coupled with a unique and specialised toolset to collect and investigate corporate computer misuse and other hi-tech crime.
Our qualified and experienced digital forensics analysts use a rigorous 3-tier quality assurance procedure that is specific to our field. We present our findings in clear, jargon-less reports backed up by detailed technical addendum for use both internally and/or in a Court of Law. Our specialists regularly give evidence as expert witnesses to back up their findings and maintain the highest levels of integrity.
So, if you think that your staff may be misusing your business systems and exposing your organisation to prosecution and serious reputational damage, we are here to help.
Criminal Investigations
Whether our instructions come from the prosecution or defence, the forensic scientist conducting the examination will do so both as a trained specialist and investigator who is able to determine if the evidence present on the exhibits confirms or disproves the allegations made. We apply the principles of forensic science by forming theories based on the facts and conducting experiments in virtual environments to prove or disprove these theories.
The evidential package which results from this process is based firmly in science and provable, repeatable fact. Opinions made are clearly delineated from fact and presented in a clear and easy to follow structured technical report, suitable for a non-technical audience like a jury.
